Calls for evidence

The Climate Change Committee regularly issues calls for evidence to gather the views of a wide range of experts, businesses and organisations when developing its advice. An overview of recent calls for evidence and the responses the Committee received are listed below for your information.

Carbon Offsets call for evidence
  • In Spring 2022 the CCC launched a call for evidence on voluntary carbon offsetting. The views and evidence provided helped to inform the CCC’s report on ‘Voluntary Carbon Markets and Offsetting’ due to be published in 2022.
Sixth Carbon Budget and Welsh emissions targets call for evidence
  • In late 2019, the Committee launched a call for evidence to inform its advice to the UK Government on the Sixth Carbon Budget, published in December 2020. In addition, the Committee sought input on Wales’ third carbon budget and interim emissions targets.
Net Zero call for evidence
  • In October 2018, the Climate Change Committee (CCC) updated its advice on the UK and Devolved Administrations’ long-term targets for greenhouse gas emissions. The CCC sought evidence to help with that task.
Biomass in a low-carbon economy call for evidence
  • In November 2018, the Climate Change Committee (CCC) updated its advice on the role of biomass in the UK’s low-carbon economy. The CCC sought evidence to help with that task.
Welsh Carbon Budgets and Targets call for evidence
  • In December 2017, the Climate Change Committee (CCC) provided advice to the Welsh Government on setting Welsh carbon targets. The CCC sought evidence to help with that task.
Scottish Climate Change Bill call for evidence
  • In March 2017, the Climate Change Committee (CCC) provided advice to the Scottish Government on a new Climate Change Bill for Scotland. The CCC sought evidence to help with that task.
The Environment (Wales) Act call for evidence
  • In April 2017, the Climate Change Committee (CCC) provided new advice to the Welsh Government on the design of Welsh carbon targets. The CCC sought evidence to help with that task.
